Hello Catherine,

Just wondering if Scanlan could also be Scanlon as I have in my family tree Leahy's, McElligott's and Scanlon's. Leahy's and McElligott are from ballylongford.

Thanks

Ireland / lookup info John A'Herin married to Bridget Day
« on: Sunday 30 September 07 16:33 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for info of John A'Herin (born about 1810) married to Bridget Day (born about 1809) one of their child is Michael A'herin (McElligott) ( born about 1833 in Ballylongford) married to Mary Leahy (born about 1844). I suspect that both John and Bridget comes from Ballylongford.

Any bit of info would help me alot to continue my research.

Thanks

Since they were based in Alderney would there be a special census for military people?

Also any trace of the Brasil or Leahy in that census?

Thanks

Alain

Yes but nothing before the 1871 census as he was in Woolwich. I am trying to get info prior to the 1871 census. I assume that they should be in the 1861 census in Alderney along with Mary (Leahy) McElligott, his wife  and their witnesses Robert Brasil and Mary-Ann Brasil.

Thanks

Alain
