Don't live in York anymore and leaving tomorrow.Couldn't get an appointment yesterday for the search room today. Don't know whether they do 'look-up' at all. Otherwise will contact you prior to coming here again.

Just discovered that the Borthwick Institute which holds all the parish records is now relocated in the University at Heslington, York.

I went into the church yesterday and presume your photo is of Margaret & James Fryer, their 12 year old daughter, and the
son who 'lived respected and died universally lamented'. Francis Drake the York historian says the church yard was built over in 1736. However there is a very small part left which has railings and a locked gate. Within this are about 6 standing gravestones and a table tomb.
Having read medieval history at the university 40 years ago I am quite sure the church registers will exist. However the place I used to study them is now used for something else. If you can establish their wherabouts which I expect to be in York I can go and look for you.

Yes all my husband's Davies relations lived there for years. It is just outside Carmarthen in South Wales.
