These are the children born to George and Hannah in Shipham on Freereg. You can look these up. He was a miner which could explain the Bedminster link as there were coal mines there. Many of my Bedminster ancestors worked in the mines.

Hi, again
I think this is your George and Hannah getting married in Bedminster. It is not unusual for people in the more northerly villages of Somerset to marry in Bedminster but the distance to Shipham seems a bit far. Hope you sort it all out.

Hi, Syljun
You might find something on Freereg. That was where I found Samuel's christening. If they had a link with the few TUTTONS in Dundry, it might provide a clue as to where my Elizabeth senior suddenly popped up from. Maybe your Samuel moved for work.

Hi, Ringrose
I know there is a TUTTON site but unless the mother of Elizabeth jr was the one born in Wedmore in 1776, which seems rather late, she is not on that site. Thanks for the suggestion though. If you meant a site other than the Wedmore site please let me know. Thank you

Hi, Jon
How exactly are you related to the Elizabeth TUTTON of Dundry? I am from her son Charles and his son Alfred. I have some information on Thomas Cox of Whitchurch, back another couple of generations. Depending on who you are descended from I may have other info that would help you. Let me know.

Hi, Jon
Sorry I'm late responding. I am well behind with emails. When I looked on the Ancestry.au site the age given for the Elizabeth TUTTON in New South Wales was only 2 years different from the daughter. This is what I found in one of the family trees there:
Timeline
Birth
1792
Somerset. England
Transportation
1810
8 Sep
Age: 18
Arrived in Sydney aboard the convict vessel "Canada"
Marriage to George Peat
1818
2 Apr
Age: 26
St. Phillip's Church of England Church, Sydney. New South Wales. Australia
Registered Death
1825
Age: 33
Reg. No. V18251108 44B/1825
Death
1825
Age: 33
New South Wales. Australia
IF this information is correct this woman cannot be the mother of Elizabeth TUTTON born in DUNDRY 2 years earlier. Is the problem that the information in the above tree on the Ancestry.au site is wrong? If it is correct, it concerns another Elizabeth TUTTON born approx 2 years after the Dundry one. You must have found information that I do not have.

Hi, Jon
The ELIZABETH TUTTON born in DUNDRY, 1790 is the child not the mother in my family tree. 1790 ELIZABETH married Thomas Cox. I am descended from them. He was from Whitchurch.  They and their descendants moved into Bishport (Bishopsworth) and then Bedminster, now part of Bristol. She was still alive in 1861. I know people get their ages wrong and sometimes I wonder if they're just guessing. It is the mother, Elizabeth senior, that I cannot find anything else about. Tutton seems to be more common further South in Somerset, especially around Wedmore, and you may well be right about ancestors in common. If I find Elizabeth senior I'll post the information here.  Thank you again.

Hi, Jon
I've done some checking up and the Elizabeth TUTTON who was deported was only born in 1792, so she was actually younger than mine or at least roughly the same age. Shame really as I quite liked the idea of an ancestor who was deported to Australia. Thank you for your efforts
