Family History Beginners Board / Re: Where to search - List of Genealogy Web Sites

I'm a relative beginner but I've been trying

www.findmypast.co.uk,
ww.ancestry.co.uk

As well as researching my ancestors, I have been looking for some living relatives

www.eroll.co.uk is a pay site but the cost was reasonable and information seemed to be concise, i have looked at 192.com also but this seems a little pricey. If any else knows of any other sites similar to these I would be grateful if they could post them. :)

Hey EagleEye,

Have you tried looking at the electoral roll? If he's still alive and voting he should pop up on the register.
Try www.eroll.co.uk , as  far as I know they have the most comprehensive lists.

Good Luck

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Divorce Records

Hey,

Have you tried some of the www.ukcertificates.com ?
Worked brilliantly for me, when I was looking for my  paternal Grandfather. (He and my Nan got divorced when my Mum was still a child.)
You have to pay but you can access divorce records since 1858. They check a ten year period, so even if you aren't to sure on the dates it gives you a good chance of finding something.....

Good Luck!
