This may or may not be relevant but I thought I would share.  There is a newspaper memorium in the Liverpool Echo on the 27th March 1895, this is what it says:

'Green:  In ever loving memory of my dear mother Catherine Green of Tranmere who entered into rest March 26th 1894.  And still I miss her much loved face. None have I found to fill her place.' M. E. W

I have crossed referenced this date of death to one on ancestry for Catherine Green, born 1866, died 1894 in Prescot, Lancashire aged 28.

However there is another death of a Catherine Green in the same year but she was born in 1820 so the memorium notice might be for her.

There are electoral registers for him living in cannock until 2013 with a woman who could be his wife. There are a couple of newspaper articles from 1999 for an Eric Bryan living at the same address. Not sure if he is the one you are researching, there aren't many people of the same name in Cannock.

Aww, that's a lovely story LM. Dogs really do get into your heart. Being a dog lover and owner myself I understand how your dad must have felt. It sounds as though Laddie had a lovely home and family. My westie, Bob, is now 13.5 years old and has slowed down massively in the last 6 months. I do have a new puppy who is now 4 months old and I love her dearly but I know when it's Bob's time to leave I will feel just like your dad. On another note, how wonderful to have so many old photo's to look at.

It's becoming like a cold really - something to get on with and get over and not worry about.

Colds don't kill people. And the vulnerable in our population people are still dying from Covid. So the vulnerable are still worried!
No colds don't kill but they can and do lead to other respiratory illnesses which can kill.
