Thanks for the information.
As far as I know or have been told, the Mayberrys and the Mendenhalls were more or less "alliance families". They traveled together out west on covered wagons and settled Eastern Wyoming and Western South Dakota. The first instance I can find of intermarriage isn't until my great great grandfather William R Mayberry. William married Emily Mendenhall (not sure the date).
William R. Mayberry 12 July 1864 to 14 July 1947
Emily Mendenhall 12 March 1866 to 12 December 1950
The oldest I can trace back yet on the Mayberry side is my great great great grandfather Lemuel Mayberry. I have no dates for him but he would have been born in the early 1800's.
I'm disappointed to hear that so few if any Mildenhall/Mendenhalls survive in Wiltshire today. Having a town named after them, I figured some might have stayed behind there. I was really looking forward to possibly visiting with someone there when we travel there in a couple of years. There is still time though and perhaps we will find someone. Irregardless we will certainly be traveling through Wiltshire on our vacation.
To the best of my knowledge, the first Mendenhall I can find to have immigrated to the US was Benjamin Mendenhall (b: 14 Feb. 1662. Ramsbury, Wiltshire, England..... d:13 Apr 1740. Concord, Chester, Pennsylvania). There may have been other Mendenhall/Mildenhalls that migrated earlier (although I doubt it), but I am under Benjamin's bloodline so that is all I know of.
Side note: I am also tracing back my namesake "Hines". I know they came from England as well. I'm running into a brick wall though. I am only able to trace back on my side to Caleb Hines (1851-1913). I know there are lots of Hines' in England and Ireland, it's just a matter of finding out when they immigrated to the US.
Thanks
UPDATE: Andrew Mildenhall....... b: 1170 in Mildenhall, Wiltshire, England. Father of Ydania Mildenhall
