My great, great grandfather Matthew Crummy (1794) resided with his family in Killeavey Lower up to 1844, and is next found in Liverpool in 1851. I believe there are still many Crummys residing in that area and I would dearly like to hear from any, long lost cousins.

Wexford / Ireland, Catholic Parish Marriages. (nli.)
« on: Friday 12 March 21 22:17 GMT (UK)  »
During the period of 1804-1880 I have identified some 30+ Furlong Catholic marriages, containing some 92 Catholic Furlong sibling Issue, in the small Townland of Jamestown, Oylgate, However, throughout the numerous Catholic Parishes I have perused in the nli Catholic Parish Indexes, none provide the parents' name of the parties. It is impossible therefore to reconcile any sibling relationships of Furlong males of any of the above marriages!

I like many researchers have faced many 'brick walls' over 30 + years, and have managed to overcome. But, I realised that at some stage I may face a brick wall, at the end of a cul - de - sac! That time seems to have arrived unless any good person has magic formula to help overcome.  THANK YOU.

Hello Boodie, I mis-filed your original incoming mail of notification and have only just recovered this.  I must apologise therefore for the delay in replying. Many thanks for taking the trouble to respond to my appeals. Where is Killmalock, and is it likely that Furlongs may be buried there?

Thank you for responding to my inquiry. I have visited Garrynisk Cemetery, at The Glebe. I have the strong impression that this cemetery was administered by the Church of Ireland, and that there was a church on the site originally; although my catholic family members were buried there.  (Catholics in this area were served by St Davids, Oylgate, and Catholic Church at Glenbrien. I doubt therefore that burial registers would be held at the Cathedral in Enniscorthy which is Catholic. I am really very surprised at the lack of public knowledge of this church and cemetery. So, my quest continues to establish the name of the original church, and any birth, marriages, and death records.

Thank you for your information - this I feel tells me all I need to know about the central Wexford Town Catholic Church of the 1770s. Thank you also for the additional links.

Wexford / Roman Catholic Churches of Wexford Town

My Great, great, great, grandfather Michael Furlong was the first sibling of 7, baptised in 1771, of Edward & Mary Ann Blake, (there does not appear to be any record of their marriage). The Ancestry.com records simply state 'Wexford.' Assuming this means Wexford Town, can anybody tell me the names of the Catholic Churches in Wexford town in the 1770s era.
