Thankyou for the replies. I have provided the information she gave me below: because of the children being put into an orphanage, the family information is not known. I am currently doing NZ birth death & marriage searches for her. The ireland search i am having problems with. I am unable to search NZ 1939 onwards.

My Father  Oliver Gillespie born 1909 or 1910 15th September at 28 Frank Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Married Helen Strang aged 24 at Wyndham 15th April 1939

Grandfather was Henry Gillespie 28 Frank Street, address as above

Grandmother Agnes Gillespie (maiden name was Agnes George)

5 children – Joseph

                  Alexander

                  Martha

                  Mary Ann (known as Minnie)

                  Oliver

The mother Agnes died and the above were put in an Orphanage as old Henry married again I think to someone in Christchurch who had been married before and had her own children so didn’t want Dad and his brother and sisters hence the Orphanage bit.  There was no contact at all again between old Henry as his new wife and Dad’s family.

Henry Gillespie’s own father was called Joseph and was married on 15/1/1859 in Ireland but don’t know her name

6 children from that lot – Mary Ann

                                    Oliver

Henry (the above who was Dad’s father)

                                    Rachael

                                    George

                                    Joseph

Hi, a friend has asked if i could do a quick search of her fathers family from Ireland. The Family is:
Gen1: Joseph Gillespie married 15/1/1859 to ????
there may have been 6 children to this marriage.
Mary Ann
Oliver
Henry (the grandfather)
Rachael
George
Joseph

Henry Gillespie married Angue (nee George)  his address was known as 28 Frank St Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Anges died and the Children were put into an Orphanage. it is thought Henry remarried a woman in Christchurch NZ who also had Children but did not want his Children, Hense them being put into an orphanage. it is not known if they were put into care in Ireland or NZ

The Children of Henry and Angus Gillespie are.
Joseph
Alexander
Martha
Mary Ann (known as minnie)
Oliver ( her dad)

I have tried searching and can only find a Joseph Gillespie married to a Martha Ferguson, but not all the names are mentioned, and i am unsire if this is the right track. It is important to her to find some information of her history as she is unaware if there is any living relations left.

Northamptonshire / searching for webbs in northampton
« on: Monday 28 September 09 15:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am trying to find our Webb history in Northampton England and beyond. I was given some information a few years ago about my 6th grandparents back their birth places were not listed  but their marriage was. I have tried to research both their names and have had no luck finding any information, which has also made me confused about towns and places. JOHN WEBB was born c.1765 where? and died 6th april 1825, he married ANN DICKS born c. 1769 where? the marriage as noted was 1790 at Brington northampton. the only child given at that time was HENRY CHARLES WEBB.

while trying to research the names i did find Charles Webb through the Branson family line and have also discovered over time through LDS site more children of John and Ann but no other information about them. doing internet research in northampton has confused me with little Brington and Great Brington, I cant work out if these are the same place or diffrent, and i have not found any information of these webb being there. I am getting abit lost as to where to keep looking for these relations and was wondering if anyone could possibly help.

Hi, Thankyou for your replies. Sorry i have not been back on as i have had no pc for a while. I have been in touch with walter mc Quarrie with some of the replies here and they have been very helpful. I am pleased to say he is now in touch with relatives through this site. much of the information has been relevant to his history. It does seem that the other family members have also been un sucessful in gathering information of the early family in scotland, and have not been able to find the house of gordon relavent to isabella gordon. any further information will be passed on to walter and to the other family also now researching. thank you for your help. when i get some info sent to be to answer some of the replies i will post.
thank you again
