Hi Sydney,

I am a total amateur to genealogy and I know very little. Have you tried Griffithe Valuation at: http://griffiths.askaboutireland.ie/gv4/gv_placename_search_results.php?freetext=kilgarvan&countyname=WEXFORD&baronyname=&unionname=&parishname=&submit=Start+Searching

I haven't gone through the whole parish but I notice that there is a Goff family in the townland of Assagart. You can find places here: http://www.logainm.ie/?text=Assagart+&placeID=53426

Hope you find who you are looking for.

Best wishes.

Hi Nickr90,

If you could help me with a small townland named Tinnick which I believe is in Ballaghkeen and point me towards the history of the Devereux family there I would be eternally grateful.

Best wishes,
Peter

Dublin / Re: John Edward Boshell - mother?

Hi Kooky,

I did a quick search on Griffiths and on the Dublin 1911 Census, as I'm sure you did too. No Dowzards anywhere in Ireland in Griffiths and 2 families in Dublin in 1911.

I can see 2 possiblilites: the Dowzards moved to Dublin betwen Griffiths and 1874 when your John Edward got married, or he met her on one of his overseas journeys as a ship's mate. Of the two I think the first is most likely since the male line continued in Dublin.

What is the earliest record of Dowzards in Dublin you have found from directories etc?

Wishing you well with your search,
Peter.

Hi Mary Bridget,

Welcome to RootsChat. If you post a 1901 and 1911 census look-up request for Denis O'Regan and Catherine Culloty on the Kerry page you might get lucky.

Best of luck with your search,
Peter.

Hi Brionne,

I only joined Roots Chat recently and have been reading through the old posts.

Hopefully one of the more experienced members will be able to find out more about the Mortons of Little Island and maybe a link to your missing relatives.

Best wishes,
Peter.

Hi,

There's a reference here to Miss Morton of Little ISLAND, Clonmel:

http://www.tipperarylibraries.ie/local_studies/FethardHunt1900.shtml

Could that be the place?

Peter.
