Scotland / Patterson Family.
« on: Tuesday 02 December 08 12:00 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone else help? I found information that may be related to my family.

William Patterson & Elizabeth Patterson had a son James Patterson (died 18th January 1939 at 68 years).

Their son James Patterson married an Annie Adam (died died 20th August 1943 at 70 years old) they had at least 2 children; James Patterson & Jean Patterson (died on 1st September 1971)

I'm just trying to find out if a James Patterson (died in 1985 at age of 64 born around 1920s) is the brother of Jean & the James mentioned above??

Thank for any help.

I'm not sure if this family is related to me in anyway but when I was searching for deaths of a Patterson in my family this one came up in the searches.

1941 PATTERSON ELLEN   PINKERTON TAYLOR F 71 DENNY AND DUNIPACE /STIRLING

sounds a lot like the one you posted earlier..

In loving memory of THOMAS PINKERTON died 15th July 1936 aged 66 years
Also his wife HELEN PATTERSON died 12th January 1941 aged 72 years
And their son WILLIAM died 1st February 1976 aged 75 years

Just incase anyone else is looking for this person.

the death was pretty recent about 25 years ago. I have heard a 'story' from a family member quite a few years ago that she had a baby & died just after it was born or it was a still birth I'm not sure. The baby didnt survive for long if it was alive and neither did she. Her partner died a month later as he was heart broken about losing them. Not sure if this is true however. The family stone is for all 3 of them. Where can you find out about births/still births? I suppose the death cert. would tell the cause of death anyway so I will look into it.

Hrrm just sounds strange.
The details show Kilsyth as the district of birth & Morningside as the district of death. The family lived around the Kilsyth area & her partner died a month later but his death details show Falkirk as the district.

So basically Morningside is where they died & where registered?

Just a quick question when you do a search on Scotlands People website for birth & death records and it comes up headings at the top above peoples details;

'No Year Surname Forename Sex District City/County/MR GROS Data Image Extract'

What does the District and City/County/MR mean??
I know this is a silly question but I am a bit confused. Is the district where they died or where registered or something?

Its just most of my family so far all have the same district & city but one is completly different but her grave stone is in the same place as the rest of the family. A bit strange. I know that it is definatly the same person.
