If you ever come across this reply, sorry about the time lag, I can only contact you when you have a minimum of ten posts, but I will quite willingly when possible.

Dave

Edit - minimum of 3 posts is the requirement

Does anyone know where ' Thriepland ' is located, I believe it should be close to Urquart, but have tried Google and Bing etc maps and cannot find it.

Moray (Elginshire) / Lhanbryde location help
« on: Sunday 26 July 09 13:14 BST (UK)  »
I had a relative that lived at Pittensair Cottage, Lhanbryde. In trying to locate the whereabouts of the cottage in the village I have come across this reference   link to aberdeenshire.gov.uk OR   link to Google Maps
Is there anybody who could confirm or not that this could be the cottage.

Many thanks

Somehow it seems appropriate
A photo of the end of their married life,
and a photo of the start of their married life.....

Many thanks for your help. It would seem that the plot thickens by the moment. I know all the information I had was from the Libindx site, but I have retraced my steps from yesterday, and cannot find where I discovered 'stone ref 005'.
On the Libindx site I have noticed a peculiarity in that with the Freestone details it refers to Urquart New Cemetery, but with Betty's George Mackie it refers to Urquart Churchyard. Is it possible that Libindx has got the referencing wrong and that the Freestones could be in the churchyard?
Thanks to Betty I have now been to http://www.abdnet.co.uk/mi-index/ which also refers to stone number 5.
Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Dave

I have just come across a relative who resided in Scotland. Rootschat seems to be the only forum that has any effective connection with Scotland. Fortunately I have found the site and hope to become involved.
