David Anderson LAWSON, 26,(born 1898) carpenter, Scotland, 99 Hamilton St., s/o James LAWSON (b. Scotland) & Mary TRAYNOR, married Agnes Wright FITZSIMMONS, 20, Scotland, 95 Wood St., d/o Samuel FITZSIMMONS & Agnes WRIGHT, witn: John TRAYNOR of 56 Gloucester St. & Kathleen MacKAY of 704 Crawford St., 6 June 1924 at 704 Crawford St

I am looking for the children of David & Agnes who were married in Ontario, Canada.

The only child I have is James Mitchell LAWSON born March 15th, 1925 at 90 Oran Street, Glasgow. His birth was registered in Maryhill 30th March 1925.

I hope someone can help me in my search.

Thanks again Liz.  :)

Did it say anything about their children? The info I have on James Mitchell LAWSOn, who migrated to Oz in 1949 gives his next of kin as Mr Thomas Lawson, so this must have been his brother, not his father as I first thought.

I have noted different spelling to. I know with my Liddel research they spell the name in so many different ways, just to confuse me even more  ::)

Cheers, Tassie  :)

Thanks Liz  :)
I went to that site but found it hard to navigate to some up with the 1 you did. I might try and get to the IGI place here as soon as they open again after their Christmas break and see what I can find there.

Cheers, Tassie  :)

Anglesey / Re: WILLIAMS, JOHN Anglesey
« on: Monday 14 January 08 11:22 GMT (UK)  »
I know what you mean Cedas, as I have spent over 17 years looking for the birth records of my G Grandfather John Williams, with no luck. I have even visited Wales twice looking at the records at the records offices, but with so may Wiliams, it ws mid boggling to say the least  ::) Here is what I have so far and as you can see, with no birth father, and no maiden name for his mother, it's a lost cause

1851 Census for Greenfeild, Holywell he was aged 26...birth year 1825
1855 He emigrated to Oz aged 28 aboard the Marco Polo, together with an Evan Williams aged 28 also...........................Johns birth year now 1827
1858 He married Elizabeth Liddell @ Northdown,Tas...aged 30...now b/yr 1828
1913 He died aged 89..................so now birth year 1824

So maybe you can see why I can't find him ::)

On the 1851 census, when he was working for James SIMON at Greenfield, Holywell, and living at Tai Coed 13 with his widowed mother Anne aged 65 & a pauper, her place of birth listed as Penlan, Anglesey, while Johns was given as Ceirchiog, Anglesey.

On the census the Simon Family of Greenfield Farm, was listed as no 197 while Tai Coed 13 was listed as no 192

I also  found an Owen Williams aged 38 born Ceirchiog, living at 122 Ravenyard. Could this be his brother?

I am assuming his father was named Richard from the naming of his children (listed below)with wife Elizabeth.

1...Anne  (his mothers name
2..Richard
3.. Hugh....(his father-in-law)
4..John...( himself)
5...Elizabeth..(his wife)
6..William
7..Alice Louisi
8.. Jane May
9..Email Agnes.. ( Agnes from Liddell side)
10..Andrew Owen.

Cheers, Tassie

Thanks Hume  :),

I have looked at the IGI but came up with zero for either birth nor marriage. The adress I have for when their son James was born in 1925 as Oran St Glasgow and when he came to Australia in 1949 his address was c/0 Kerr, Sunnylaw Street, Possilpark, Glasgow, and his next of Kin was listed as Thomas Lawson, c/p McIntyre, Ashgill Rd, Possilpark, Glasgow,so naturally I assumed his parents would have been from Glasgow as well, so I guess it's back to the drawing board, so to speak

Is anyone doing research on David Anderson LAWSON & Agnes Wright FITZSIMONS ?
They were married in Toronto Canada, but a male child James Mitchell LAWSON was born to them in Glasgow in 1925, so I'm unsure if Agnes was Canadian or not, or if David was born in Canada, and returned to Glasgow, or born in Glasgow and went to Canada......confused .......so am I  ::)

Thanking you in advance,

Tassie  :)

I have no idea Dean. My John was born Ceirchiog, Anglesey.
I did find an Owen Williams born Ceirchiog, Anglesey, on the 1851 census for Greenfield was well when I was in Wales last year.
Owen was 38 a bricklayer, living at 122 Ravenyard. He was married to Harriet 36 born Denbigh ( something) looked like C...drudion.

All I have to go on with John is he was living with his widowed mother Ann, 65, pauper..b Penlan, Anglesey. If I had a fathers name, I'd be in clover.

Going on for 3am here so better get some zzzzz's

Cheers, Tassie  :)
