Cork / Re: Byrne/s Burns of High Street, Cork 1911

Celtic Liberty, just wondering if you know where Timothy Burns/Byrne was born? I have Burns/Byrne in my family tree who came from Blarney/Inniscarra area and changed the spelling of their name around the same time as your Timothy.  in 1911 I have a Jerome Byrnes living in Evergreen Street.

Oops! sorry Yonks Ago, I should have updated this a long time ago. I found my Mary Burns, she was married to MArtin Francis Darcy and they are buried in Karrakatta cemetery also.

I haven't been doing much research for a while now as life took over  :)

Rosehill132 rootsireland doesn't have the original certificates, just transcripts.
You should be able to find the civil registration certificate which would give you both father's names and occupations plus maybe a more accurate address at time of marriage. You could search for that on the Irish civil registrations on www.familysearch.org or if you have a subscription to ancestry.com or .co.uk they have civil registration too. You are looking for Mary Cooney & Joseph Kelly who both have the same page & volume number.
Alternatively, you could write to the G.R.O. in Roscommon and give them the info you have and they should locate the cert for you for a small fee.

There's a marriage record on www.rootsireland.ie for marriage of Joseph Kelly and Mary Cooney in Rochefortbridge, Westmeath in 1924.

Oldcourt is a townland on the road to Baltimore outside Skibereen. There is also an Oldcourt House.

Where he might be buried is anybody's guess I'm afraid. There is a cemetery in Middleton so that's a possibility. The notice would most likely have been published in the Cork Examiner. It's not online so you would need to see microfilm copies in either the Cork city library or the Cork County library or possibly the NLI Dublin.

I agree with craggagh & Eadaoin. The Ó wouldn't necessarily translate, so, probably Michael Curry in English.

can you post a scan of the word from the census and I'm sure someone will decipher it for you.

You can search place names here http://www.logainm.ie

I've never heard of Filard so could be mistranscribed. Two places come to mind - Fethard in Tipperary or Killard in Cork. Unfortunately, Ryan is a very common name in Ireland.
