Hi Chris,

Thank you very much for looking.  I wonder if Edwin disappeared into military service or some such thing.  He is in the 1851 and later censuses all within Brede and then Guestling where he is buried.  I now have their marriage certificate which took place  04 Jul 1846 in Udimore.  It lists Mary's father as David Noakes and the witnesses as Edwin's father Stephen and two sisters Mary & Ann Playford.

I am having trouble identifying which David Noakes family my Mary belongs to.  Have you any advice as to how I could prove which of the families she belongs to.  There is

Family "A" has 2 children born in Northiam which is where Mary claims to be born in the various censuses.  Other researchers are unaware of any other siblings in this family. 

Family "B" has a Marianne listed who fits the age of Mary.  Other researchers of this family only have the name and birth date for Marianne, no marriage, no death, nothing else.
