Morning Kaz,
Your so dedicated I love you.
I think the Rosetta you have found could be my grandmother. Her actual date of birth is 14th July 1913, although your research shows the date to be 1915, I think we both have seen date discrepancies during our searches, so she could be the one. She has no middle name. I will have a look at the website you have mentioned..

This is just so facinating, a few months ago we had no knowledge of my mothers real family, then her brother (adoptive family) died and his belongings were sent to her and there in the middle of some paperwork were her adoption papers, and here we are..
Mother is still very much alive and well, and was stunned when I informed her that I might have found a relative.

Mum always said her mum was in service at a local manor house, and that she became pregnant whilst there.

I have just looked at my mothers original birth certificate, and it states that Rosetta was living at 13, Werner Terrace, CALVERT, Charndon.
and on Rosettas birth certificate she was born at 6 Werner Terrace, so thats where Ernest and Kezia lived.
Cant find any other children for Ernest and Kezia either...so far

love Teddy (Sue)

Hi Mamakaz,
Just had a really good look at the marriage certificate, and I think the middle name of Florence is Jemima.
I do believe that My Great grandmother Kezia, and your Arthur were brother and sister.

Hello,
Wow, you have been busy, I think you have found pretty much the same as me.
I have received the marriage certificate of Ernest Fred Spencer and Kezia Ellen Plant dated Feb 11th 1904,
Fathers name Joseph Plant
Witnesses - Jesse Thomas Plant
                 -  Florence J  Plant
Florence has signed her name but I cant make out her middle name.

I also have the birth certificate of Rosetta Spencer, born 1913 to Ernest and Kezia Spencer in Werner Terrace, Charndon, and my mothers original birth certficate she is Margaret Rose Spencer born 25th April 1937 (sorry put wrong year in yesterdays post)
She was also born in Werner Terrace, Charndon. which I found out is still there.
But I cannot find anything further about my grandmother Rosetta.

So going back again
I think we have the same results
1891 census
Joseph Plant      Head
Sarah Plant        wife
Thomas Jesse     Son  (and witness at wedding)
Frederick A          Son
Herbert   E          son
Kezia      E          daughter
Albert      J          son
Florence  J          daughter (another witness)
Edith       R         daughter
Charles  H          son
Edward  J           son

And then on the 1881 census
appears the names of Arthur Plant 1871

I know I also put the wrong the year of birth for Kezia yesterday, sorry I was just so surprised to find your post, I had to respond immediately and did not have any info in front of me.

this is all so exciting

Love TeddyXXX

Hi,
My daughter just rang me to notify me of your search, as I am searching for the Plant family of Charndon as well, I am so excited...
I will tell you my story so far,
We have always known that my Mother was adopted, but had no knowledge of her family, she was born in 1933. Recently her adoption papers have come to light, and I have been researching ever since.
She was born in Charndon to a Rosetta Spencer, who is the daughter of a Ernest and Kezia Spencer. Kezia was formerly a Plant. She was born 1884.

I will post back tomorow when I have all the details of what I know in front of me. Just wanted to respond now as this is a side of our family that I am just begining to find out about.
