Aberdeenshire / New Deer Kirkyard monumental inscription
« on: Thursday 04 May 23 00:35 BST (UK)  »
Hello, does anyone have the monumental inscription for stone 376?  It belongs to the family of JOHN FORBES.  FindAGrave has the photograph of the stone but no writeup and the stone is pretty much unreadable.

Thanks for any help.

Gosh Tracy, I am also a direct descendant of Robert Garner Howard through his daughter Ellen Hepsibah Howard.  Let's talk some more.  BTW Thomas Howard's parents were I believe Thomas Howard and Elizabeth Lock.

Thank you, this is so much more than I had hoped for.  I have to absorb everything and I shall definitely explore the parish registers links.  Thanks again.

Wow, terrific.  I think the burial in Botus Fleming makes sense not just because age sounds right but because Elizabeth and John Terthewey are buried at St. Mary's in Botus Fleming (Elizabeth in 1808 and John in 1813).  I looked up Richard and he is also buried at St. Mary's.

Thank you very much for all this new information, I am most appreciative.

Cornwall Lookup Requests / Richard KESSELL and Joan LIGHT

They were married in Landrake on 30 Nov 1744.  I want to believe they are the parents of Elizabeth Kessell baptised 17 Sep 1755 in Callington.  Elizabeth married John TERTHEWEY on 28 Feb 1777 in St. Ive.

Can anyone give me any more information on Richard and Joan? I know it's a long shot but I thought I would ask.

Thank you.

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / POCOCK - Trowbridge Cemetery
« on: Friday 30 October 15 00:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, if anyone has access to Trowbridge Cemetery inscriptions  I would like to know if I'm correct that a William POCOCK was buried there on 8 Apr 1876.  If it's the right man his birth date is 1797.  His wife was named Mary and I have her dying in 1868 and that she was born 1787-1789.

Thank you for any help.
Regards,
Gale

You are quite right, Miles is the son of Thomas Machin and Hannah Bedford.  Thomas and Hannah were married 13 Nov 1729 in Hatfield and I have 6 sons for them with Miles being their youngest.  He is in my direct lineage and I'm happy to discuss this line.
