I have read quite a lot about the Braziers in Halstead, my great grandfather left Halstead and moved to Surrey and married, for the second time,, to my great grandmother, Annie Collyer in Thames Ditton. My grandmother was one of 8 children I believe. I have found going back with the Braziers quite difficult,  I got back as far as William, 1821 and Annie Fewell but have not been able to get back any further, mind you I haven't looked lately so there may be more records!
It is good that you still live in Halstead, I am not too far away, Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire.

Hi
I understand, that, like me you are related to the Brazier family? My connection is through James Brazier, born 1850. He was my great grandfather. Can you tell me what your connection is?

Hi Nick

I am still working on the Wedlocks. Although William John is still eluding me, I am almost certain that he went across the border into the US but after that it is a mystery.

At the moment I am working to try and get back further from Richard, I have two possibilities, but it is almost certain that the Wedlock family did not originate from Bristol and also the spelling, as did often, may have changed. I found, the first and only, a Richard Wedlake born 1768 in Devon. It may be wrong but it is the nearest I have ever found to records I have.

Hope to hear from you soon

The farthest I have got back with the Burgesses is William who married Elizabeth Lavy in 1768 in Whitchurch. Who Williams father was is a bone of contention, there are two possibilities - Ralph Burgess or Thimothy. It would be good to find out which one.

I would like to hear from anyone with information about the descendants of this family but would particularly like to find out about  my fathers immediate family. He was born in Winchester in 1921 to Walter Edward and Emily (Banning) I believe he had at least 8 siblings of whom I can name only 4 so far. My father was Ronald Stanley Burgess. I also believe I have a half sister who I would love to know about, the only information I have about her is that she would be in her mid sixties.

Thanks in advance to anyone with any information.

Lynne

I am researching the Burgess family who originated in Overton then moved to Winchester in about 1916.

Thank you, I will not search any further on that front. Back to the search - he has to be out there somewhere!

I have been in touch with the Vancouver library who have been very helpful but so far have found no trace of him. I have looked again at the US and have found a possibility - William Wedlock  married to Maude living in Chicago in 1920, but am unsure how to go about finding if he is the correct person.
