My query is re Kirk Michael. Our Cannell family were mostly from there. I always understood that the family home of Dad was Rheyn Cullyn but after doing a google search it appears that Rhen Cullen was  is a suburb of Kirk Michael.  Then to confuse the situation more I found a referemce to Rheyn Cullyn in Rhen Cullen?

So is it a house, a hamlet, a farm???   And while I am the topc what was Llergy Vreck. Dad and several of the older chn were born there with the rest of the 12 born at Rheyn Cullyn.

It is obvious I have never been to the IOM and all the family have died now so I have no  one to clarify questions like these.

I have a Richard Qualtrough born abt 1784 who married a Margaret COSTAIN who was born the same year at Arbory IOM/

Do you have an info on him? I have not been able to get anything re parents or children etc.

i have only just come across your note - from almost 2 years ago about John Cannell and his wife Eleanor CAINE.
From what I can work out John remarried Isabella in 1845 after the death of eleanor in 1841. Jane was born in 1841 and also died in 1841.

However your query was a long time ago and you are probably a wealth of info on the family.  Did you find the parents of John?  i am favouring Thomas and Joney Collin but

I would love to know the update of your note, John Cannell was my 2nd great grandfather.
