Well spotted John!  Farrelly's Court it is.  I'm not sure I'll ever find the exact location of it, but it seems a reasonable bet that it was gone by 1911 to be replaced by the likes of Brookfield Buildings.
Thank you,
Stephen

No unfortunately.  In both places where it mentions the district, it refers to it purely as Blackrock, without a number.
thanks,
Stephen

Dublin / Farley's Court
« on: Wednesday 04 July 12 22:53 BST (UK)  »
Would anyone by any chance know where this place might have been?   The death certificate for my GG Grandfather John Day gives his place of death as 3 Farley's Court.  The death was registered in the district of Blackrock in the union of Rathdown, and the year was 1910.  The same address is given for the residence of the Informant, John's son, also John.
The following year, John Jnr was living elsewhere in Blackrock, here http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Blackrock_No__2/Brookfield_Buildings/88227/

I've checked maps for the period but can find no reference to Farley's Court in the Blackrock area.  I've also of course tried google, but it only throws up one reference to Farley's Court in Dublin, and that is in St Audeons parish in Dublin City.  Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks,
Stephen

Hi Sue,
I'd be happy to oblige with a photo.  However, I need more details on the address of the grave.  The plots in Deansgrange are identified by a grid system involving both a number and a letter/letters.  Also, the plots are divided amongst a number of sections.  So for example, I would expect to see an address for the grave which would look something like p 222 North Section, which might also be abbreviated to p 222 N.

Dublin / Re: Kingston Streets - Tivoli Ave, Echo Court & Hassards Court

From "Historical Street Directory of Kingstown - Dun Laoghaire", published by the Dun Laoghaire Borough Historical Society in 2000.

"Desmond Avenue, which extends south off Cross Avenue, was built in 1904 as part of a housing scheme for the working classes.  The laneway to the rear of the houses on the west side of Desmond Avenue was originally the location of the 25 houses of Tivoli Avenue which faced onto the lane..." - page 21

and

"The east end of Dominick Street was originally the location of Hassards Court, later called Echo Court ..." - page 21
