Australia / Re: TAYLOR George RICHARDSON Mary Ann Hindmarsh SA
« on: Saturday 25 April 15 09:19 BST (UK)  »
Yes Josee that is the same George & Mary Ann - exactly the same dates & names I have. It was a common combination - there were so many George and Mary Ann Taylor's but thankfully our's used (nee Richardson) on most documents.

They had the four children Alfred, Elizabeth, William and George born in UK then also Hannah b. 16 Aug 1874 and Fred 28 Sept 1881 (both born Adelaide).

Fred was my husbands Grandfather.
We have very little of the distant relatives in Australia, Fred's siblings children/family - it would be great to make contact with some others. I am happy to share what I have and hopefully you have some of what I am missing.  ;)

I see 'radrian' has replied to you so that is good you two can get acquainted - both from the same line, George & Agnes (McGregor).

Thank you for your post josee1.

I have Fred Taylor born 1881 Hindmarsh Adelaide South Australia to George and Mary Ann (nee RICHARDSON) Taylor - as shown on Fred's birth certificate which I have.

I agree George & Mary Ann who migrated on the Hesperus are not the parents of the Fred Taylor aged 3 in 1871 census at Birmingham - a bit before our Fred was born.

I have George & Mary Ann (nee Richardson) Taylor's marriage certificate and who their fathers were. I also have the census records for both families up to departure to Australia, showing the 4 children who were born in Yorkshire UK.

Many Thanks

Monaghan / Re: KEOGHAN from Co. Monaghan 1830's.
« on: Thursday 01 May 14 02:02 BST (UK)  »
Oh wow thank you pb3, a few names light up on the Doran side so it could be a start. The 1858 marriage didn't say either parent were deceased so it could be promising.

Apparently the family bible (I have not sighted it) from one of the ones born in Ireland, had entries back to 1850's and made reference to home being Carrickmacross Co. Monaghan Ireland.

I have written to St Joseph Catholic Church but records were not kept until after my lot were born so nothing from that avenue  :(

If only I could find exactly where the kids were born or the parents marriage/death  ???

Thanks for the attachments PatB

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: Mother of the Bride

Ok Im a little lost. Is the man u are referring to as the possible groom from photo 1, the one sitting on the bottom left of the picture ????

No just im my opinion the one in grey waiste coat (light hair) standing in photo 1 to bride left looks like same person seated in photo 2 bottom left.
The one in both photos on the bride's right looks like same person (dark wavy hair).

It is only my opinion by looking at features and they would of matured (filled out) a bit over the timeframe. I could be totally wrong. Sorry to confuse anyone.

...The groom is the one in the white waistcoat and not the man with dark hair beside her. (which is the one I originally thought he was groom.

The white waiste coat man in photo 1 looks like the same person seated in photo 2. The man standing next to the brides right looks like the same person in both photos, ??groom??

I dont think the older woman in both photos really look like the same person.

Yes and it also states no plan to burials before 1880.

"There is no obvious plan to the earlier burials. In July 1880 application was made by Rev J Golden to set aside a separate area for the Roman Catholics, and they were allocated 102 plots."

I hate brick walls  ???
