Thanks for the replies, i have seen the CWG site .I was wondering if you could tell me if his wifes maiden name was Collings,as the only marriage record i could find for a William Shaddick showed the name Mary Grace Miles as the spouse.
So i am a bit confused as to who his wife was.
I didnt know about the medals thank you.
if you have any other information i would be grateful to hear about it. i  , you never said if you were related in anyway, and if anyone has any photos i would love to c them. i have a photo of williams head stone if anyone is instressed.or even if he had children or not

Personally I am very happy to share with anyone the information I have found. Usually the only ones interested are part of the same family lines - its seems likely sharing with long distant relatives.  I have found out a lot of relevant information from others via the various sites, especially Rootschat and Ancestry and the generosity of those contributing.  I think it only fair that I contribute to the family history researchers out there any information that I find.
hello im like you i would willing share info, but unfortainly most of them are pay sites.so i am asking if there is any kind soul who could look at an ancerestry family tree for me,as there is just no way i could afford to bec0me a full member and look for myself. the name is gordon kelman maitland whyte, but only if they are already a member and dont have to spend there own money.thank you, marzy loo

Hi Marzy

You have his birth entry?

GORDON KELMAN MAITLAND WHYTE Birth:07 JUN 1873 Saint Nicholas, Aberdeen
Parents: MARJORY WHYTE
thank you for the info im not sure if they are mine thought they could be.it diffecult to be sure as they are borders,i need to find more proof,i have looked for marjory whyte parents but cant get anywhere, im not sure where she was born as i no very little about her,
His birth looks to have been illegitimate.

I wonder if this is him in 1881 and potentially another brother:

Jane Scorgie ??8, head, Crofter Of 2 Acres, b. Kincardine O'Neil, Kincardine
Helen Scorgie 22, granddaughter b. Newhills, Aberdeensh
Frederick G Duffus 13, boarder b. Old Marchar
William J Duffus 9, boarder b. Aberdeen
Gordon Whyte 8, boarder b. Aberdeen
William Whyte 5, boarder b. Aberdeen

Address: Whiterashes, Newhills, Aberdeen

His 1893 marriage might give you more clues (father's name, if his mother had married and her married surname for example).

Just putting a link for the post on Gordon's wife Annie Cruickshank to avoid any duplication  :)
