Suffolk / Re: Flintham Sluice, Adleburgh

Hi Windy, there is a postcard of Flintham's Estate, Aldeburgh pre 1909. Not sure where it was located.
Also there is a sluice Cottage on Thorpe Road between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness(1937-61 OS map) and a wind pump at Red House, near Gorse Hill nearby.
Hope this info may narrow down your search.

If one of your ancestors was John of Merryweathers Mill, have you looked at the interactive NLS map  of the area around Mayfield?  https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=17.0&lat=51.02260&lon=0.28948&layers=168&b=1

1831. To be sold by auction by Mr Durrant at the Star Inn, Mayfield, Saturday 13 Aug 1831 at 3 pm under the will of John Weston, deceased, the Water Mill called Merry-Weathers and the dwelling house contiguous-- Also the wind mill at a short distance and about 6 acres Also the productive farm Merryweathers and Little Luckerscrouch Abt 60 acres + buildings etc etc From Sussex Advertiser. I think this John 1747-1831 married Sarah Johnson in 1775.
He was the son of Mary Burtenshaw, born Bolney Sussex and John Weston 1724-1785 . Married Feb 1743 at Nuthurst.

I found the info at             http://www.dswebhosting.info/Suffolk/SRODServe/dserve.exe?dsqIni=Dserve.ini&dsqApp=Site31&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqCmd=show.tcl&dsqSearch=(RefNo==%27IC500%2F1%2F248%2F38%27)
Which has a list of wills from 1600s onward. It says Access Status Open.

Suffolk / Barbara Burt. Norton. Will dated 1794.
« on: Wednesday 21 June 23 11:52 BST (UK)  »
Wondering if any forum members can help. I have come across a reference to a will of Barbara Burt from Norton, dated 1794. May have been her surname from birth or a married name.
As I am now somewhat disabled I find it difficult to get to the WS Record's Office.  Wondering if anyone could help with info.
My Burt grandfathers (and Greats) had strong connections to the village and there was also another Burt family in the village which I am struggling to tie to my tree, but suspect that there was a connection as they lived 3 doors away and at one time lived in a relative's house. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks Rosie. My mother was born in Whitehall Place and lived in Ruthrie Terrace for most of her time in Aberdeen. She trained as a nurse at Woodend Hospital and was a fever nurse in the City Hospital towards the end of the war. That's where she met my dad.

Thanks Rosie and GR2. I had based my enquiry on the info from the Aberdeen weekly journal of 1944 but couldn't locate Ferrier Brae. It appears that this may have been a newspaper typo! Found Fernie Brae, though! It is in a fairly close proximity to Altens Farm. The farmhouse has been demolished and it and the land now lie under a huge industrial development. I do, just remember, visiting it almost 70 years ago when on a visit to Aberdeen with my mother, to see my grandparents.
Interesting that Agnes' birthdate is 27th Jan 1923 as it is my mother's birthdate too. (She is still alive and will be 100 in 2 months. She was born in Aberdeen, too).
