The girls show up on the Board of Guardian reports, they were taken into care in the Kensington Union Workhouse.

I can find Annie Bond in the 1911 census as an inmate of the Kensington And Chelsea, Workhouse Schools,Ewell, Surrey

Clarend The Barnardo offices in England hold records for the Louisa Birt children. You would need to contact Valerie Smith at valerie.smith@barnardos.org.uk

England / British Home Children film release on YouTube

One of Canada's best kept historical secrets, the mass immigration of tens of thousands of children to be used as a source of cheap labor. Between 1863 and 1949, over 110,000 children were forcibly removed from the UK and brought to Canada. Known as the British Home Children, their descendants alone are estimated to make up over 10% of Canada's population and yet, even their very own descendants are unaware, not only that their ancestors may have been BHC, but also what this truly means.
The history of the British Home Children, is now available on YOUTUBE. Find out the history behind these migration programs, how this was legal, what was behind the horrific treatment of many of these children and why most BHC held their silence about their past for a life time. Please share and educate as many as we can about this story.

Have you tried the Ups and Downs index for any mention of these girls?

Florence is listed on my web site under deaths and burials.
http://canadianbritishhomechildren.weebly.com/park-lawn-cemetery---barnardo-plot.html

Florence Green Walker
Born: 1898
Died: Feb 1912, Toronto, Ontario
Cause: Tubercular pneumonia
was born in 1898; in the 1901 UK census she is three years old, living with her parents George (26) and Edith (21) in Kettlestone, Norfolk, England. Also listed are her sister Ellen, age one, and her widowed grandmother Martha Walker, 62. George is shown as a carter on a farm.

I haven't been able to determine what happened to Florence's parents.

Florence was 10 when she arrived in 1908 on the Dominion, via Barnardos. Ellen Green Walker, 11, is on the same ship. (I think ellen's age is incorrect either on the passenger list or the 1901 uk census, i suspect the former.)

Unable to find florence on the 1911 census, but Ellen is in Gwillimbury, Ont, a servant for the Hambleys on their farm. I wonder what happened to ellen, and if she knew where her sister was laid to rest.

Florence Walker died Feb 1912 of Tubercular pneumonia in Toronto. Address was given as 50 Peter Street, buried from Bates & Dodds. She was 14.

The Perry Snow Registry has now been taken over by the British Home Children Advocacy & Research Association.

Over 110,000 children from the UK were sent to Canada as indentured servants, if your missing children from your tree's this could be your answer!

Attachments: from the September 1 1895 Barnardo magazine Ups and Downs - mentions Christmas`s placement at that time.

I have a large article written by Peter Aspinall as well - contact me if you`d like a copy of that as well.

I had helped a member of our Facebook Group - British Home Children Advocacy & Research Association do some research on this family and found these articles. She would likely be related...
