In  1939 my father and several others were listed at LCC School Westmoreland Road. My fathers job was Book keeper he was also in the AFS.
Would this have been Michael Faraday School.

Hi. My grandad's served in the Navy from 24th October 1904 to 23rd January 1918 as  Head Stoker. It deffinately looks like a V and not a U. The Acheron was the first ship he served on but served on it again in 1915.
He served on nine in total.
I never met him so just trying to found out what I can on him.
Thank you for your help it's much appreciated.

Could anyone tell me what 10/- Grat for raising V 22 Acheron means. This is on my Grandads service record. I am stumped on this.

Hi Dave.
That does sound like a good match, I found the one married to a Bridget Fitzgerald but the one you found sound good as his father  Robert was a cooper.
I thought that this side of the family would be easy but far from it.

I found SEAX a while ago and came across the marriage. At the time certain records were free which helped. But only have the marriage and nothing else eg Jemima's parents. I must admit it does look a possible link. Thank you for that.
