In 1855 there was the Trent Tavern and Turf Inn on Guildhall Street, Lincoln.  The Trent was a 10 GS, redeveloped (along with others) when Westminster Bank erected their grand building, now the Yorkshire Bank.

Thank you. Yes, the date seems about right. I live outside the UK but currently visiting after many years. I have been trying to find her grave. Sadly, I assumed she was buried in Spilsby, Lincolnshire but can find no trace. She was like a grandmother to me. Any more information would be appreciated.

Elsie is a 5th cousin removed of mine.  I can't tell you much more about her,  she was buried about May 1977 in the Spilsby registration district, but I don't know where.

I can send you a snip of her family record if you pm me your email address

Hello

I am trying to find any information about Elsie Bocock. Lived in Hundleby, Spilsby, Lincolnshire and died in early 1970. Lived with my grandfather John Henry Fairweather for many years.

Thanks

Do you mean Elsie Dinah BOCOCK, b 1893 d 1977?

Many thanks for all your help with this query.  My main research area is the Bainbridge family, the connections to the Peniston family have also been very useful and interesting but I don't intend to go any further back with it.

Yes Groom I think that must be her, I can't find her in the 1881 census so I can only think that she was probably in somewhere like Switzerland "taking the air" because she had breathing difficulties.
