I do not know how this came about, but at Auckland in 1872 depositions to the Resident Magistrate, Auckland, Isaac HARDING, Master of the "NEBRASKA" was charged with breach of Quarantine Regulations regarding Walter Coombes BRUCE.

And there are two school records (1909 and 1910) for his namesake son, Abraham TOVEY, Dome Valley School. Father, Mr A. TOVEY.

Enquire direct to Archives New Zealand in Wellington. That is the most likely place for those records to be held.

Just as a matter of interest - the ship was the TAMAROA, and it arrived at Auckland from Liverpool on 18 February 1956.

New Zealand Completed Requests / McCOLL Family, probably of Hamilton
« on: Tuesday 03 June 14 00:37 BST (UK)  »
Many years ago I was handed a small suitcase of papers etc belonging to Ida Eise, the artist. I had never met her, but I seemed to be her only relative living in Auckland.  In the suitcase was a large packet of mainly studio photographs of people named Fiona Margaret, Evan Patrick and Craig McCOLL. I have no idea who they are, but I would like to hand the packet on rather than throwing it out.  Please come back to me with a private message if you can help.

I think that is a different one, as the BMD records show that Alexander George and Caroline had kids from 1899-1904. I wonder if Alexander was the son of Maria Ann?
