I have a Deborah Benson dau of William ch St Nicholas ,Liverpool 7/5/1750 ,born 21/4/1750 possibly married Henry Fisher ,K Ireleth 1771 and  had a daughter Deborah married to William Rawcliff (of Aldingham)
Your Margaret Wane married Wm. Benson ,Mariner 2/7/1749 Aldingham ( Margaret of Aldingham and William of Ulverston at time of marriage  Was this the same family and Deborah born before the twins
Was your William Benson christened Lowick
Margaret Wane ch Aldingham 1722 and 23 Father William and Mother Deborah Did the first one die

hi i have a connection with a dorothy tyson of ulpha who had siblings sarah and roger (possibly half siblings
i think the roger was christened blackhall ulpha 1728 father roger .. sarah married a Hunter and left a will 1784 now viewable on the kirkby ireleth village website Dorothy maried a william craghill in eskdale  S, D and R had a cousin alice hamilton whose mother was mary strickland of newfield seathwaite and widow of strickland of cockley beck(will1776)
I have not yet  found a christening for dorothy and sarah with a father roger around 1730 though there is a will (in Whitehaven R O ) of roger tyson blackhall 1738 that mentions wife elizabeth and children roger and dorothy not sure if this is the right roger !
cockley beck is not far from blackhall  you might find a link ..regards

Thanks for that .I will have to try and see if they are mentioned in any Tyson wills ..After Whincop the next mention is at Grimecragg ,Ulpha ....not far as the crow flies....then Jonathan and William both married Walkers in1788.Thomas has gone awol! Regards arcwest
Looks like thomas died in eskdale when about a year old according to the national burial index...There is a will of roger tyson of blackhall leaving monies to wife elizabeth and children dorothy and roger dated 1738(in whitehaven ro ) Hope these are the Tysons ...If so did elizabeth marry again ?

Iam related to a dorothy tyson married to a William Craghill in eskdale who had 3 sons baptised in eskdale
 in the 1760's
have you any idea of her parents?
whincop where the last son was born was a tyson farm
I found a will for a sarah hunter leaving money to her brother roger tyson and a sister Dorothy craghill

Would yeoman suggest he rented a farm which begs the question where did he work before
was there a hiring fair in dalton then or was it in ulverston??

Hi found creary's in rotten row 1841 but no joseph (HO107/531/12)
elizabeth aged 40 john 17 and ann13
Had joseph died or was he at sea

april 19 1840 william rawcliff married hannah creary at parish church ulverston wm's father william ,a husbandman
Hannah,s father joseph, a mariner
William living sunderland tce and hannah rotten row
witnesses nancy brownrigg and thomas Gaulker
Joseph's birth certificate
born 22/7/1844 father william Rawcliff,master mariner.
mother hannah rawcliff formerly creary
informant mother residing at Ellers ulverston
William Rawcliffe death cert 17/8/1868 @Tarnside ulverston  aged 60,master mariner
notified by Sarah Lucy Rawcliffe present at death [not sure who S.L.R. is yet ]
Hannah ratcliff death cert 4 /2/1851 at fountain street ulverston,aged 40 yrs wife of william ratcliff master mariner         
informant william ratcliff fountain st ulverston
This should identify the correct joseph creary ....hopefully....

hi, 1841 census would make sense grandma deborah living with dau in law Hannah,dau Ann ,dau Dinah,daughter margaret's child deborah and henry and Jane's 2 ..william and Elizabeth
