Monica,  that's fantastic!  Thanks so much for these!

So sad, such a young man. I think he might have had kids too, so very tough.

I never would have found this myself,as I would have looked only afer the death of his father!

No this is the right will I linked above. He mentions his sons and daughters all of whom I knew of.

Cant be Francis dying in 1913 as he is mentioned in the will Father who died in 1915

I will try the new names you have given me and the info as well on Ancestry first before Scotlands people to try and narrow it down a bit.

Many thanks to you all for taking the time to help out a rookie!

Here is John (Red) McArdle's will.

I think Monica that piece you posted must be right, Francis's mother was a Loughran before she married. She died in childbirth. Is this from a census?

Armagh / Re: Proni will - no image

It's a pity there was no will on this occasion

I was delighted to find two wills when visiting PRONI. I had assumed "no image" meant the wills were lost. It only meant they had not been digitized!

2nd wife is a possiblity, I really dont know. Only thing I can count on really is his DOB Oct 1872

Gonna have a look in scotlands people I think. Is that the best source for BDM?

Cant find it on Ancestry

The only mention of zJane was in the will.

I'm pretty certain though that Francis's father was John McArdle as I have certs from Groni as well as I for from family notes. The notes also state he married and settled in Scotland and had a family there, but that s all the info I have unfortunately.
