Thanks for the prompt answer to my query.  It has been a fascinating journey tracing my family.  I was led to believe that my father's side of the family was 4th generation Aussie, but have found out that my great grandfather Joseph was English.  On my mother's side my grandmother was born in Clapham, so I am more English than I thought.  I have already found a third cousin in Northhampton shire.

Thanks for the information you emailed me.  Upon further invesitagion I have found that Joseph married an Australian woman Barbara Ellen Humphries in Victoria in 1877.  I wonder what happened to Elizabeth.

Hi,
I have just discovered my great grandfather Joseph Williams was born in St.Blazey, Cornwall in 1841.  He married Barbara Ellen Humphries in Australia in 1877.
I would love to know when he left Cornwall and came to Australia.

That solves the problem of Emma's mother, but a new problem arises.
I have her as Mary Waddingham (not Waddington) her mother-in-law Alice Fox seems to have been born in Waddington, could this be the problem.

Looking for mother of Emma Skins born 1866 in Metheringham, father Edmund born 1832, mother either Elizabeth Thompson (1836-1866) or Mary Waddingham (1844-1882).
Emma was my great-grandmother.  I live in Australia.  Please help.

Hi Bev here.  I am trying to find a record of my grandparents coming from England to Victoria, ,Australia.  My grandfather Thomas Richard Williams was born in Dunnolly, Victoria and must have gone to England after the war and married Alice Maud Carpenter in 1918 in Middlesex.  Would like to know when they came back here my father Erice Charles Williams was born here in 1921.  Hope someone can help.
