Wicklow / Mullicagh/Hollywood landlord records
« on: Saturday 23 April 11 10:04 BST (UK)  »
while researching some of my ancestors ( Giltrap ) I found a number of them were tenant farmers in mullica ? ,in the 1800's, their landlord being Rev. Beresford, later Lord Waterford. Are there any records from this estate which can be seen?
Sadly, the church records for Hollywood were destroyed. Apart from the Griffith valuations, is there any other sources of information for this area?

Hi Rob,
since I first posted, I have gathered up a fair bit on the giltraps of west wicklow. there is/was a pub called giltraps in kinnity, and there may have been a shop/pub? on n81 past hollywood or maybe on the old road south, ( new?! toll road started early 1800s )
William, Henry, Robert and Richard are commonly recurring names in the giltraps.
There is only one family of giltraps in the area (glashina) now, in the 1800s there were maybe 10+ households.
If you had a townsland associated with your family, it would help, like burgage, humprystown, hollywood, mulicagh, rathattan, merganstown.
Not sure how to do it, but if you could contact me directly, i could share more info.

Hi all, I am new to this,
I am trying to get more information on my granmothers family of Giltrap of Elverstown Ballymore Eustace, where I live,  I'm OK back to  the early 1800s based on a copy of a will by William Giltrap, dated 1828, married to Anne Boothman circa 1788, which names all his children. how would I find his siblings names? I believe his fathers name was William, married to Hanna Wright. Family graves in Hollywood Co Wicklow.
