Australia / Alexander Ross born 1870 Victoria goldfields.

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help me if possible, I am trying to find the marriage and death of Alexander Ross born in 1870 Morrison's Diggings on the Victorian goldfields. His parents are Alexander Ross and Jessie Cairns. The family moved to New South Wales about 1875-1877 and settled in the suburb of Balmain, Sydney. He is mentioned being married in his mother's funeral notice in 1911 (Sydney NSW) but it does not mention his wife's name.
There are so many named Alexander Ross in the New South Wales BDM's  that I just can't find which entry refers to him.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks Aileen Robson  (tangles)

Hi Cello,
All the information  you have found has been very useful.  You have been very  helpful indeed  and I really appreciate it............As I don't have full time access to a computer it just takes me a while to reply so please don't think I am being slack if I don't get back to you straight away. I'll give the Wantage records ago. and if I can't get into them I'll let you know..............Many many thanks Aileen. :D

Hi there Cello,
This is more than just a coincidence, I think this could be the family of Martha as their first child Elizabeth was born around 1760 that I know of and John came from Wantage.
Thank you so much for that it's a really great find.
 Cheers......... Aileen :D

Hi Shane sorry that I haven't answered your reply until now been offline.....

That's my biggest problem tracing this family I don't know what parish they came from it only has County Cork on the death certificate of their son Thomas Delohery when he died here in Australia and I haven't been able to find his arrival to New South Wales either all I know is that he arrived here around 1841-43 with his wife Margaret and possibly a daughter Catherine

I will check out the links that you have given me.
Many thanks tangles

« on: Saturday 24 July 10 07:51 BST (UK)  »

Hi,
Can anyone help please.

Looking for any information on Jerimiah DELOHERY and his wife Catherine SHEEHAN from County Cork

Jerimiah Delohery's occupation was a cattle dealer.

Possible marriage about 1815-1817, give or take a few years.
One known child Thomas Delohery born c.1817

Not sure if Delohery is the correct spelling of the surname.

Many thanks to anyone who can help with this family.
