Lancashire / Whiten Hill Park, Lancashire

One of my ancestors has given her place of birth as being Whiten Hill and Whitenhill Park on the censuses. I have checked genuki and there seems to be no such place. Has anyone any suggestions as to where it might be or an alternative spelling? Reply to me here or email me (*)

Oldroyd and Holt families in Dewsbury

Benjamin Oldroyd b.1848 married Ruth Rogerson b.1848 on the 16th April 1870. They had at least 8 children including Dick b.1875, Edwin b.1880, William b.1883, Charles Henry b. 1884, Caroline b.1887, Ruth b.1890, Benjamin b. 1891 and Annie b.1896

William b. 1882 married Christiana Holt b.1884 (daughter of Jesse David Holt aka Jesse David Lee) on the 24th July 1906. They had a number of children but they only ones I am aware of are Benjamin b.1914, Harry b. 1916, William b.1920 (my wife's father), Raymond b. 1922 and Albert b.1925. In 1901 William was a confectionery hawker. Family recollection is that the family traded in ice cream(?) in the Dewsbury area.

I would be interested to hear from any one who has any knowledge of the family, especially anyone related to the above in anyway, or those researching the family history to compare notes.

I tried 1861online but couldn't connect to server - have they closed down?

I need a lookup for a Farrell (or Farrel) family believed to be in Northowram, Halifax.
in 1861
Joseph FARRELL (or FARREL) aged 28 to 33 (a dyer born at Bramley, Leeds, West Yorkshire) along with his wife Maria age 23ish (born Southowram, Halifax). They are possible living at Northowram, Halifax accompanied by children Thomas (last name may be TAYLOR) age 5, and Abraham (Abram) recently born. Can you help at all please?

Abraham Farrell age around 30
Maria Farrell age around 23
Abraham Farrell age 0            all believed to be one family living in Northowram?

Can anyone look up the following on the 1861 census for Halifax, please - all believed to be one family in the Northowram area of Halifax.

Joseph Farrell age around 30
Maria Farrell  age around 23
Abraham Farrell age 0

I am completely stuck looking for the birth of my great-grandfather Abram Farrell (first name may be Abraham and surname may be Farrel - with one L). According to his marriage certificate his father was Joseph Farrell. On the 1881 census he gives his place of birth as Halifax, West Yorkshire and age as 20 and I can find an Abraham Farrel on the 1861 census at Northowram, near Halifax and also a Joseph and Maria Farrel also at Northowram but I can't find him on the 1871 census anywhere in the country nor can I find his birth on the civil registration index. If anyone can check further for me, including the Halifax Parish Registers, I would be eternally grateful. I now live in Cornwall so if I can check anything here by way of recompense I would be glad to do so. Thanks.
