Thankyou for that Melba!
Are there tools on the ancestry site to match with other people? Or do i have to sign up to Myheritage to get better matches?

I still haven't taken the test  ;)
I was looking at prices and it seems the autosomnal dna test costs around £60, and the y-dna test about double that.
Is the database larger now for the paternal test and what would be the best company for y-dna?

Thankyou, Tom

The Common Room / Registry Office
« on: Tuesday 06 December 22 18:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

I've just received the marriage certificate of my 3x great grandparents, Francis Colley and Emily Thornton.
I always wondered why i couldn't find a record of their marriage on ancestry/findmypast, and now i know why, they married in a registry office!
This was in 1876 in Driffield, Yorkshire. It's the first time i've seen this, has anyone else seen this with their ancestors? What building would they use? Maybe a town hall?

Kind regards, Tom

For my 3x Great Grandfather John Cook, the birthplace was transcribed Dublin, Ireland.
I then looked at the original image and it was obviously Dullingham, Cambridgeshire, where i knew he was born.
I know there are millions of returns to get through but i don't see how you can get them mixed up.

Ah. So that's where Timothy comes from.
The 1802 Esther maybe related to George in some way then?   :-\
