Thank you Carol W, giblet, cupoflife, wivenhoe,Sparrett and Tree Spirit for all your information.

First, please allow me to apologise for accidentally sending an incomplete story.  Truth is, new puppy jumped up and sent my IPad flying!

As part of a family story, I’m searching for ‘a’ Kathleen Elliott allegedly a Scot, whom I believe was in Kalgoorlie WA in 1904.  Searches failed to find a birth in Scotland, England or Australia.  Passenger lists didn’t help. I failed to find marriage or death that related to this Kathleen.

I then found a Kathleen Elliott named in the Military draft document of John Edward Sampson Elliott where this person was named as his sister, next of kin.  I checked the her 2 addresses in the document , Thompson Street and 24 Evans Street but there was no Elliott there.  This John was born in London (as some of you found), I have no evidence Kathleen was born in Scotland.

I found John Edward Sampson’s wife, Mrs L M Elliott living at 34 Reeve Street, Swanbourne WA 1935.
She was seeking a military pension at this time.

I’ve checked cemetery records, Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie etc but did not find ‘my’ Kathleen.
I don’t know how old she was in 1904 but according to the family story again , could be older than 18.

Thank you all once again, I’m reading through all your replies, Beryl

Can anyone help me find the marriage details/certificate of
Margaret Ann Titterington and Henry Howard (professional Musician) please.

Margaret and Henry had 3 children Emily, Henry Edward, Frederick Joseph……all born in Glasgow Scotland.

According to Emily’s birth certificate which I have from Scotland’s People, it states her parents were married 30 August 1890 Belfast.
I’m struggling to find the certificate!

I can see the family living in Scotland in the 1901 Census.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Yes, I’ve been intouch with Missouri.  They confirmed Ted’s records were destroyed in the fire.
Thanks for your help, Beryl

Thanks you, I have all of this.  I’m just hoping for details of Ted’s horrific accident and where.
Finding where it took place will fill in another gap in his history.
Many thanks again for your information, Cheers, Beryl

Theodore Carter Brewer was born in Illinois 1922
(Known as Ted)
He died in Cortland, Marathon 1976
Parents Helen Frances Carter (of Cortland) and  Wallace Melvin Brewer Snr (of Texas)
He boarded with his brother Wallace Jr in a Military school in either Chicago or California as a boy, then in school, Cortland.
Ted was a Technical Sargent USAAF in WW2 serving with 314th and 62nd TC
Sadly, his Military records were destroyed in the fire.
I do have some details of his Military time.
Married/Divorced Rosalie Whitney
He was involved in an almost fatal car accident sometime around 1957-1963 “SOMEWHERE”.
He was very badly injured.
His mother, with the help of The Red Cross, traced him to ‘a hospital ‘ and on discharge some months later, took him back to Cortland where he lived until he passed away.
I need help with 2 things:
Can anyone help me find the details of Ted’s accident?
How can I find his log books for his period of service (1942-1945)
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
With thanks Beryl

The Common Room / Which London Local Authority and The Church Army 1941
« on: Thursday 28 February 19 08:25 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

I’m helping a friend find her family ....
Where would the records of a baby born Sheffield Street Hospital London in 1941 then
taken into the care of the Local Authority straight from Birth be held?  I have the birth certificate.
Mother’s address Stepney.
She was in care 5 years until fostered.

The Church Army:
After being fostered for 10 years, the child was placed in the care of The Church Army London.
I contacted The Church Army via their website to ask where such records are held, was told they didn’t have records and to try elsewhere, I’m sure this can’t be right?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks, Dahab
