Hello this is ellen here just to say that i have found Rose Cottage.   It is now called Rosemary Cottage and is opposite the church and down the road from the alms houses.  If you send me an email at elliedd@btinternet.com i will send you a picture.  It has changed a lot but is recognisable. The land to the side had been sold to a major and a bungalow has been built on it and  his daughter lived there until she died at 90.  Also the rest of the land at the back was sold after the war by my grandparents and is now council houses.  It is quite small inside and the lady said it had outside toilets which is true because my mother remembered them.  She also told me that a lady that lived near by, told her that her mother used to go to music (piano) lessons with my grandmother.  Where all the confusion has arisen is because of the name change, which happened when my grandparents died in 1960.  Two old spinsters then took over the property and renamed it to Rosemary Cottage. The present owner  has been there 40 years.   regards ellen
