Completed Census Requests / Re: 1871 Census

Thank you Wendy and Bryant.  I have found the family listed in different things as both Holtom and Holton.  I am pleased  that you were able to find the info for me.  I could very well be off on the father's birthdate as I don't have anything other then his name on Fred's marriage certificate.

Thanks so much again, Beth

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Re: 1901 Census Lookup - Emily Holtom
« on: Monday 11 April 05 13:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi Wendy,

I am afraid that is all I have to go on.  My grandmother would never talk of her childhood, so we are slowly trying to piece everything together.  My mother just found out about her mother being put to service 10 years ago and my grandmother has been gone since 1978.  She had always wondered how my grandmother had learned to make her pastries and pies etc. without recipes, that is when an Aunt who now is also deceased mentioned about her being with a family that ran a bakery.

Thanks for having a look for me, Beth

I am hoping to find my Grandmother Emily E. Holtom in the 1901 Census.
She was born 1888, West Ham, Essex, she would be 13 years of age.  She won't be listed with her family as she was put to service between the ages of 8 and 10 with a pastry chef/baker and his family, sorry, but I have no idea as to what area she would have moved to, if she did move.

Thank you so much, for any help, Beth

Thank you so much for the effort. Fred named his eldest daughter Emily, so this may be something. I have also just found that Fred was born in Buckingham, Buckingshire. It will also give me new people to at. Beth
