Hi
I picked up your request for info about Thomas Statter brother of Richard Dover Statter.
Thomas was born in Liverpool 20 Sept 1838 he is listed on the 1861 Census in Bare  Morecambe as a watch maker, he died in 1868 and his trade was a watch maker, he left a will, the address on the will calendar was Coperas Hill Liverpool.
I have more info on this family I am researching his sister Sarah family.

I could snd you copies of the above if I have your email, regards Janet

Hi Are there any WW2 experts out there
I am trying to find out more about a soldier on active service who died on 1 Dec 1941, I think he may have been on Nottinghamshire as there is a death of a Harold at the correct time trg district Worsop.
He was Harold Harrison Driver.70614. in the Royal Army Service Corps. When he died his "theatre of war" was "England", which makes me think he may have died whilst training or as a result of an accident.
ANyone any suggestions how I could clarify/confirm  this
thank you

Janet

Renfrewshire / port glasgow families role call
« on: Saturday 01 October 11 21:52 BST (UK)  »
I am researching a number of linked families from Port Glasgow 19Th/20Th century, all originally came form Ireland, the names are  Mcigrew, Mcilvennie, Mcsloy Cushnahan, Heigney Mcglin, Mcgurk, many of the names had local spellings and variantions but would love to find out if anyone else is researching any of these families.
Most of the men worked in the shipyards, does anyone know if there are any lists of men and the yard they worked in?
Also what would a blacksmith do in a shipyard?
thanks in anticipation of someone getting in touch, regards Janet
