Thanks for the reply Andrea.  I've tried IGI records but cannot find anything.  The only details I've got is that they were living at 38 Charles Street, Whitehaven in 1856 when their son Patrick was born.  I've looked at the 1851 census but cannot make out what the street name was where they lived.

I am trying to trace baptism records of the children of John Quail and Sarah McCann in Whitehaven between 1845 and 1860.  Can anyone help with a look up please.

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to look at the parish records for Duncrun?  As I'm interested in seeing whether there are anymore Coyles from the area.

Thanks for the link - I think it could be the Joseph I'm looking for.  Do you know where I'd get details of baptism records to see what his fathers name was?

Derry (Londonderry) / Coyle family from Duncrun

I am trying to trace my grandfather Joseph Coyle who I believe was born in Duncrun sometime between 1880 and 1895. He had a sister called Mary and I think his father may have been Henry or William Coyle.  I've hit a brick wall and wondered if anyone would be able to help with tracing more about the family, or even find any living Coyle relatives.
