on lennonwylie site 1907 ulster/belfast street directory there is a j.t.allen tenter living at 4 clara avenue www.lennonwylie.co.uk/alphanames1907ab.htm

The Allen family are here in 1901-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Down/Pottinger/Clara_Avenue/1220319
However, John Thomas Allen is aged 39 and has a 2 year old son John so doesn't look like the correct family.

I wonder did he move to belfast as someone on another forum told me the Allens From Grosvener Place came to belfast from the Lurgan area

Since John Allen's father is listed as a tenter on the 1907 marriage certificate I'm wondering about this family in 1901 census-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/Shankhill/Jersey_Street/948920

Some John (right age to be the correct John Allen) is listed as "Tradesman Tenter" (tenter is fairly uncommon to find in census records). This family is also living in the same area as John and Alice Allen were in 1911.
Children Charlotte and George living here in 1911-

aghadowey     Thanks for your Reply but I dont think its him John Senior would have been the Tenter and there is a big Family in that house my Mother used to say that her Father was an Orphan and Never Mentioned any Brothers or Sisters  of his Im Starting to believe that he might have been Adopted    My Mother in now RIP but would say she had relatives in Grosvener Place and there was Allens there but I dont know the connection
