I looked in that marriage database for the surname Priest, from 1789 to 1841 and only found this one other one, besides Mahala J Priest:
Married
20 June 1820, Sunbury County
John Barry Priest of Maugerville Parish
Rebecca Redmore of Maugerville Parish
by consent of themselves
by R Milner
witnesses: John Combs? and Mary Lewitt

this might be him later. It's hard to tell.
1851 Census Fredericton
John Priest, 70, born in Scotland, inmate of alms house, religion: Church of England
I didn't find anything else on this couple, so there is no way of knowing if they are related to Mahala Jane Priest.
I found these two sources, in case you haven't seen them yet:
https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/New_Brunswick_Census
I don't think your area is covered in the censuses they list, but I didn't look closely

I only took a quick look at this site.
Have you seen this old genealogy post from 2001 ?

I' am afraid that the story of the nun is of no help.Yes that's a possibility. What kind of information would be helpful do you think?
May be she was a "novice" and decided that she 'd rather not become a nun. A novice can change her mind within at least 2 years before becoming a nun.
I must keep on working on the HUREL and RADIGOIS trees .
I am still trying to find Marie Marguerite Dupuy but there are so many of Marie Marguerite Dupuy that I am afraid it will be impossible if you don't have any clues .
