Thanks again Sue

I havn`t got the Census images for David Snr in 1841 and 1851, so anything you have would be great.

Just to correct myself on David Snrs Children, i mentioned earlier that David and James had been christened, with Mary being the mother. James infact was David snrs grandson, being the son of his daughter Mary with no father being mentioned ( i wounder what happened there).
So it appears that it is only David that was christened with the mother being Mary.
We`ll get to the bottom of this somehow.

Talk to you later

Hi Sue

Me again, just another bit of info i found on the LDS website.

All Davids children were christened in Carew with the mother of Elizabeth apart from David and James who had mothers name of Mary. I think Elizabeth may have used two names as these christenings were years apart.

Another interesting fact is that there might have been two daughters by the name of Mary. The first being Christened 17 or 19.02.1832 and died 13.01.1833 and the other christened 18.03.1834 both with parents of David and Elizabeth.

Will let you know if i discover anything else.

Thanks for your help Nigel.

Sue

Thanks for all that

Just for your info

My David had William who had Arthur who had William John who had me who has one on the way.

How did you go about requesting certs form the RO in H`West, what info do they require?

I might try and request Davids birth cert to try to find out if Elizabeth is his mother, and also if i can find it ,David snrs marriage cert to try and reveal who his father is.

Have you come across any other useful websites that might contain vital info.

Thanks again, talk to you later

Hi Sue

I`ve just discovered on the LDS website that a David Scourfield was christened in Carew on the 20th of Aug 1836, with the parents of David and Mary not Elizabeth.

This could mean that maybe Mary had died and David remarried, or Elizabeth may have been known by two names.

Thought i`d mention this as it could mean that Mary was the mother of your William and my David and not Elizabeth.

Will need to do more research, if you discover anything then please let me know.

Thanks again

Steve

Hi Sue

I`m a descendant of David and Eleanor's son William. There are so many Davids and Williams its becoming confusing.

I already have the marriage cert of David and Eleanor. I Knew Davids father was also called David, but i wasn`t sure of his mothers name as i hadn`t seen the 1841 or 1851 census.

I suppose what i need to do now is visit the records office to try and find out any info on David and Elizabeth.

Thanks for your Help

Steve

P.s Let me know if there` anything i might be able to help you with

Thanks for that Mike E,

It does sound very feasible, unfortunately other family names don`t match up with any mentioned apart from John, as John jnrs children seemed to be named after his wifes family in Cornwall.

I would hope that maybe this is the right family tree, but without further information i cannot be positive.

The  doubt i have is concerning John jnrs age, in the 1871 census he was 24, in  1881 he was 34, but in the 1891 census he`d jumped to 55 and in 1901 he was 62. I know ages can vary from census to census, but with the name possibly changing as well this make it very difficult to be certain if this is the right family.

If you have any ideas concerning  further information that may be available i would be very greatfull for any help.

Once again thanks very much for your help

If possible could someone lookup the 1851 census in Carew Pembrokeshire for David Scourfield. In the 1861 census he was living with his wife Ellen and daughter Elizabeth in Jeffreston Pembrokeshire.

He married Eleanor  (Ellen) Bowen in 1860 in Carew which is where he was born. He was born around 1835-1839.
His father is also David Scourfield.

Any information from the 1851 census would be great.

Thanks
