Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Lucker Marriages after 1772
« on: Sunday 10 June 12 12:07 BST (UK)  »
Yes..I've done exactly the same thing myself, thought of Toll marriages as well but to no avail. As you suggested I am just going to start at Bamburgh and work my way around. Have been on 2 years now so another year or so and i might get there...

Many thanks...Doug

Thanks for the info...going through the Bishop's transcripts but it's like wading through treacle, going to start on Bamburgh next.

The man I am looking for is William Patrick, his wife was Anne, they started having children around 1803, they were all baptised NC in Warenford.

I am trying to find Anne's maiden name.

Thanks ...Doug

I think Robinson Sutton Lindsey may have been with his grandfather Robinson Sutton at this time, there is a Robinson Sutton living with them but they had 4 daughters, so I think that's problem solved...many thanks...now to see if I can get any further back !!!

Hi..yes and thanks.

Robinson was my g-g-g-grandfather and he married Martha Whitehead. He unfortunately died in 1854 age 27 of a bowel infection probably as a result of the cholera epidemics in Newcastle.

It's his father William I'm trying to nail down.

His father was probably Edward Lindsey and his mother Ann Matfin, problem is the marriage says he married Elizabeth Matfin, her sister !!!

Many thanks for the help it's much appreciated.

Can anyone help?

I am unable to find the following in a census of 1851...should be Newcastle, All Saints

Parents:
William b 1802-6 and Isabella (Sutton) Lindsey b1807. William was a waterman

Children:
Robinson Sutton b 1827
William b 1829
Edward b 1831
Elizabeth b 1832
George b 1836
Matthew b1842

I have checked all possible surname variations but am unable to find any of these people.

Thanks in anticipation...Doug
