Stirling Library also hold a lot of the records. The staff are very helpful.
I think if they check for you there is a fee for this.

Perhaps if you post their names someone may be able to assist you.

I know there are still Easdale families in Clydebank. I went to school with them.
Good luck with your search.

Thanks for your reply.
I thought I was onto something there.
Mary Moores husband is proving to be a problem, and on marriage cert he is listed as living a few doors down in Fox Street.

Not to worry, back to the drawing board.

many thanks for your help

Lancashire / Census
« on: Sunday 15 October 06 17:18 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know when the census in Liverpool was taken in 1901?

I have my Mary A Moore on marriage cert 13th October 1901 age 24, living in Fox St.

I have her on 1901 census (I think) as living with family at 14 Easby(?) Road, Kirkdale Parish.

Can anyone check addresses on 1901 census insead of names, and perhaps check number 17 Fox Street and number 24 Fox Street please?

Many thanks in advance
Snowwhite

One Name Studies: A to G / Re: CHALMERS Scotland

My partner is descended from the Chalmers in Alva.  Does anyone have Catherine Cook marrying James Chalmers in 1815?

Tom

It is always possible your James could be related to my David CHALMERS. I don't have David' parents yet, so don't know his siblings. James could be around the correct age to be brother of David.
Do you have any further info on your James at all?

As far as I know your Chalmers aren't related to the ones I've got in Clackmannan, but David Chalmers and Isabella Harrower's sons Andrew and John are living in the next two houses to my William and Janet Chalmers in 1851 at Howtown. This seems a very strange coincidence. David's son Andrew married Helen Cunningham and William and Janet's daughter Margaret married Helen's brother, William Cunningham. Do you know who the parents of David Chalmers were or where David was born?
Elisabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

I am actually in contact with another gentleman, who is researching another Chalmers line. I have a strong feeling, it may be the same line as yours.
His Chalmers were also living alongside mine. He has tried to find a link between them for many years now, and not managed it so far.
The Andrew and John you  mentioned are indeed my line. I think the parents of David CHALMERS was John CHALMERS and Helen WATSON. This is from briefly flicking through my notes.
I am going to email my friend about you, if you don't mind, and find out if this is indeed his line. I will let you know when I hear back from him.

Regards

Amanda

The two Janets mentioned above look as though the firts one possible died and they had another child by the same name (pretty common then).
same for the two Davids too.
The two mentions for Jane one is her birth the 2nd her christening. Same for Anne.

There are also two possible births for James Farxer, assuming he was born in clackmannan. The only way to confirm place of birth is by finding him on a later census.

Possibles are

JAMES FRAZER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 26 AUG 1776

JAMES FRAZER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 31 AUG 1776 Alloa, Clackmannan, Scotland

or

JAMES FRAZER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 19 APR 1778 Alloa, Clackmannan, Scotland

Fife / Re: Looking for James Morison of Burntisland
« on: Monday 15 August 05 10:29 BST (UK)  »
Burntisland is in Fife not Clackmannan

The only reference i found for him was on LDS and they were not parish extracts,so not very reliable i'm afraid.

This is what i found:
birth 04 NOV 1832   Burntisland, Fife, Scotland
Parents Alexander Morrison and Helen Garnock

You will find them online
