Devon Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Census Lookup: Okehampton
« on: Thursday 11 August 05 16:48 BST (UK)  »
Kris,
Thank you very much.  Seville it is for 1841, then!  There's John and Joanna and baby Charlotte who is nine on the '51 Census.  Great to see the other assumed children in the family grouping.
Thank you again for looking this family up.  Very much appreciated!

Requesting a lookup, please, in the 1841 Census, living in Bratton Clovelly, Okehampton:

I would be interested to know if there are any children listed.

Thank you,

Aberdeenshire Completed Lookups / Re: Mary Bone, born Sept 2, 1827, Aberdeen

Peggy,
Good luck in sorting out your Marys.  I do not know if you are aware of the Ontario Vital Statistics Project, but you might be interested in looking through their site since there is an Ontario connection.

Happy hunting,

Hi Peggy,
Have you ruled out the Mary Bone born in Aberdeen on the Family Search IGI site?  I looked for the death of Mary on the Manitoba Vital Statistics site, and it has her age as 72, which would give 1831 as an approximate year of birth. The following is the only Mary Bone born in Aberdeen between the years 1825 and 1835, and she just happens to have been born in September:

IGI Extracted Entry: Mary Bone, birth 26 Sept 1831, Tyrie, Aberdeen
Father Alexander Bone, Mother Ann Murison.

There are seven children entered for this couple, starting in 1830 up until 1845, all in Tyrie.  (Anne, Alexander, Isabella, Mary, Jean, Catherine, and William.)

Unfortunately, these dates do not fit the dates you have from the 1901 Census, but we all know what tangled webs those can sometime weave!

suttontrust,
Thank you for the heads up on this site.  I’m a regular user of Wikipedia, but missed this one.

It has exciting potential.

Canada / Re: Link: Online Searchable Databases

Corinne,
The address remains the same.  I've just double-checked the link on this thread, as well as the one given on the main Board.

It's one of those computer gremlins at work, I suspect, and all will be well when you try again.  If not, come back and we'll try Step 2.

Sod’s Law?  No, more like Howe’s Law, I think: “Every man has a scheme which will not work.”!  It’s me.  I’m going to have to change my scheme obviously!  I’ll work on it over the summer and have one ready for your visit in September.

Have a wonderful holiday,
