New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: Funeral Directors...completed thanks!

Hi Janette This is the reply that I just got from Twentymans: I am sorry Zalecia but Twentymans do not keep the death registration file – this is sent off to Wellington to enable the death to be registered.  What details were you looking for and I may be able to help.

But I also got a reply from Colleen who I met at the Treasury who said she would try and help me find more info. She managed to find date of death where he lived at time of death and yes he was cremated at Purewa and that he had a previous marriage and two children from that marriage, I had no idea! I don't remember my Nana saying anything about having half brothers! That was great to find out

Yes that's what could've happened. He wanted to be cremated like his brothers had before him but his wife wanted to be buried. Thanks for all the replies, all the people on here are so helpful it's awesome  8)

Oh of course! My Nana who lived in Te Puru died in 2004 and was taken to Auckland to be cremated, I forgot that it was because they didn't have a crematorium!

I think I've worked it out, I looked at the listing for other Jacksons and found records that match that of 4 of his brothers, it seems the 5 brothers all decided to be cremated at the same place!  (There were 5 brothers and 6 sisters in the family)
thanks for everyone's help with this ;D

Thanks KHP, looks like a strong possibility that's him, but that's in Auckland city, I know the funeral was done by Twentymans I thought they only operated in the Coromandel.
I wonder if that means he was living in Auckland when he died? I assumed he was still in Thames. I hope the death registration has this info on it so I can verify it.

Thanks I have just emailed Twentymans of Thames, hope they reply  :)
His name was Charles Jackson born 1887 died 1973
I have looked through several online cemetery records already, The Coromandel (his wife was buried in Totara cemetery), Waikumete (his mother and several sibings were buried here) and Ohinemuri (he lived here for a while when he was young before moving back to Thames) nothing came up in them, I wonder if that means he was cremated?

Hi Everyone, I was just wondering since I've read some posts about people asking funeral directors for information and was wondering what info can I ask a funeral director for? I'm looking for the burial/cremation details of my Great grand father just can't find it, found his wife though and unfortunately  they are not buried together.
