Hi there,

Please be gentle with me as I am new to researching Irish Ancestors  ;D

I am looking for a birth record for Harry Wray born in November 1939. His parents were Harry Wray b 1905 Leicester, England and Laura Maud Florence Kerr b 1908 in Banbridge.  They were married in Ballyroney Presbyterian Church on 10th July 1935 so I am hoping Harry junior would have been born in this area? At some point (possibly after the was as Harry snr was a POW) they moved back to Leicester as they both died there.

Any information would be gratefully received,

Many thanks

Hi Both!

Thank you for your replies.

Elizabeth was living alone in Corby, Northamptonshire in 1911 (one of the reasons it has taken me a while to track her down) When she died in 1918 she was living with her youngest daughter (who at one point proved to be nearly as elusive as her mother!) Elizabeth's son in law was living in Widmerpool, Nottingham as a shepherd in 1911 so I assume (not always a good thing!) that the resident shepherd at Sheepfold had retired (he was 72 in 1911) and George had take his place?
In 1921 Elizabeth's daughter (Mary Ann) was living with husband George, on Kirk Lane, Ruddington, Nottingham but I have not got a number for it.

Hi there,

I have finally located the death of my Gt Gt Grandma (Elizabeth Marshall) Hooray! On her certificate it states she died on 12th April 1918 at The Sheep Farm in Ruddington. I don't know the area at all although I do know the daughter she was staying wit, her husband was a Sheppard rather than a Farmer so I am wondering where abouts they actually were? I've been looking at old maps and although there wasn't a farm with that label there was a Sheepfold Cottage? Does anyone who knows a bit about the history know if I'm guessing correctly please? Later on in 1921 They were living on Kirk Lane.

Also while I am on here can you point me in the right direction to find her burial in 1918 too please?

Thanks in advance

Wendy  :)

Hi Mac,

I've just spoken with Richard's partner and we wondered if I gave you Richard's email etc it may be easier and more personal if you communicated directly to him?

I am very interested but feel as it is quite personal perhaps I should step back, plus he can probably tell you a bit more about the man himself than I can?

Thank you again for the contact I'll send you a pm with details

Best Wishes

Hi,

Oh gosh I had completely forgotten about this post! Yes thank you the Dorothy we were looking for was the one buried in Shenton on 22nd March 1617. It was odd as it suddenly appeared on FindMyPast a while back and completed the jigsaw!!

Thank you for taking time to reply
Best Wishes

Hi Carole,

I have followed these up too and no obvious deaths in their areas either, in fact I have printed all the possible deaths in the country for her name and similar and tried to find one that could be her but nothing that jumps out?! Unfortunately I can not afford to buy all the death certs to double check!  ::) ;)
