My Uncle, William Henry Smith b 1900, served with the 12 Battalion Durham Light Infantry (DLI) from March 1918 until Apr 1920 including Italy.

Can someone advise what campaign medals my uncle would have been entitled to?

Hi Ken,

Uncle Harry died in 1972. I was the one who certified he was deceased (but the govt had already recorded that) and paid for a digital copy of his records. Harry didn't marry and left no descendants.

My Uncle, William Henry Smith, was born 1 Feb 1900 in Sheffield. He migrated to Australia in the 1920s and served in the Australian Army during WWII. William's service record records he enlisted in the British Army in 1918 and lists his unit as 12th Battalion DLI. For the life of me, my search through Ancestry.com to track his service record has drawn a blank.

Is there somewhere else I can look?

Armed Forces / Muster Rolls for 48th Regiment of Foot
« on: Saturday 19 March 11 07:32 GMT (UK)  »
The death certificate for my GGGrandfather, William Wills, records he was an Army Pensioner (Private) 48th Foot Regiment. I'm trying to locate any record of his service (I've tried Chelsea Pensioner Records with "FindMyPast" but without luck. The only info I can provide on William is that he was born abt 1836 at Weedon Loys, Northampton and died 14 May 1908 at Tipton, Staffordshire.

Can anyone assist?

Regards
