Hi Mrs Aird, I have been researching the McKandie family and Annie McKandie is my great aunt. Helen McKandie is my grandmother and she was married to John Reid my grandfather. They moved from Knockando to Dufftown about 1925. I have a photo of Annie. Hilary

Hi All

I have just come across these wonderful post about the Broadsea community.  My husband's ancestors are McLemans, Watts and Nobles.  I note with interest that Marconi kept his instruments at No 67, the home of John McLeman, my husband's Gt Gt Grandfather. It saddens me that out of his 10 children born, 5 died in early childhood. I really must visit the Fraserburgh Heritage Museum this year. Thank you all so much for inspiring me to continue my research which at times is challenging.

My maternal great grandfather is Peter McKandie. His daughter Helen is my grandmother. I have been puzzling for ages about the Mitchell connection. I note that in 1911 census Gandson John McAndie is present. I had assumed that one of the sons was his father but possibly an illegitimate son of Eliza.

Hi again

The Sinclairs are my husband's family and James Sinclair was his great, great grandfather so I assume there is a family relationship somewhere.  My husband is Bob Sinclair, ex Principal of Banff and Buchan College.  His great grandfather was George who had 3 brothers, James, William and Alexander and 3 sisters, Mary (who I believe is buried at Peathill Cemetery), Margaret and Jane.

I'm currently trying to piece together the John Sinclair children and also his siblings if possible.  If I find any further information I'll be back in touch.  I'm also willing to share any information that I have gathered so far.

Regards

Hi there

I was surprised to find that someone else was looking for James and John Sinclair.  I am researching the Sinclair family tree and have found a baptism record for John Sinclair 28/6/1790 in Strichen.  His father was James and mother Girsel Milne witnessed by Peter Sinclair and Robert Scott.  This matches up with the 1841 census.  I am planning to trail around the kirk yards to see if there is any more information on the grave stones as the MIs do not appear to be on line.
