I do realize that  there are websites with some incorrect information.  Ancestry also has  incorrect information about my immediate family - siblings.  As  I mentioned I also utilized  family information-  records, and Census records as well. I will continue researching

Sorry, It seems as I made a typing error W] Margaret Ashworth. (b.1584- d. 18920  should be  1854-1892.  I'm also  taking some information from  https://www.ancestry.ca/genealogy/records/joseph-grantham-24-5zbwv9. as the Thomas Job Grantham  here is my Great Grandfather. I have  looked at the replies, and the dates or names do not match.  I have looked at the census data as well.

I know that  ancestroy.com and other sites  do not always have correct or accurate information, but I also  do know that I am on the correct trail given  that I do know  my Father, Grandfathers, Great Grandfathers and great Great Grandfathers information and records, and I only live a few miles from St. Thomas and Chatham Ontario and have been to the cemeteries many time's in my life.

Hi all.

All birth and Death dates are  from what family records that I have as well as from cemetery markers, Census Records etc.

First, H= husband / W = wife.     [ Not HJ/WJ ]

There are some referrals of Thomas Grantham  Gould, and Thomas Gould Grantham  b. 1828 d. ?, which is where   some confusion in.
Sarah Sophia Barss, b. 1830 d. 1896,  is confirmed  to  be accurate

Josephs Surname was given as Grantham in what Census  Records I was able to dig up.  Joseph  Settled in St. Thomas Ontario ( Upper Canada) and married Margaret Ashworth.
Their Children and all dates are correct.

Thomas Job Grantham is my Great Grandfather, Born in  Ontario, and is buried in  St. Thomas Ontario Cemetery, as is their daughter Charlotte Catherine.
Thomas's wife Isabella Charlotte McKenzie ( Grantham) - and Son Colin McKenzie Grantham  Ethel are interred in  Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham Ontario

Looking for any  additional information on Thomas Grantham Gould b. 1828 & Sarah Barss b. 1828- d. 1830

I have no idea of what town or location  they were in in  England, but given  that two people with different surnames  had a child and  gave him the last name of Grantham,
I  guessing that maybe they  gave him the last name of the town where they lived, or the fathers' middle name

H]Thomas was born in 1828- d. ?
W]Sarah was born 1830,  d, 1896

Sarah and Thomas had 1 child that I know of,

H] Joseph Grantham, (b. Jan 2.1857, Settled in St. Thomas Ontario,  Was a Brakeman on the Railroad ( 1891 Census)
 d. 1930 in Hinsdale Illinois USA
W] Margaret Ashworth. (b.1584- d. 1892

 They had 8 children__> Mary Margaret , 1886-1958 [ 1891 census], age 3 # 1378712
                        John Richard, 1185-1941   [1891 census] , age 6 # 1378711
                       Charles, 1888-1953         [1891 census] , age 3 #1378713
                       Harriet, 1880-?            [1891 Census] , age 10, #1378709
                       Esther Ann, 1878-1936,     [1891 Census] ,age 13 #1378708]
                       Edith, 1890- ?             [1891 census] , age 1 #1378714
                       Margaret, 1882-1882
                       Thomas Job, 1883-1926.     [ 1891 Census], age7 #1378710

At some point Joseph Grantham and family  immigrated to Upper Canada Or the American colonies/ U.S.A.
Perhaps just Thomas Job Grantham family ended up in London Ontario Canada, and got married.

Ireland / Re: Kidd Family
« on: Tuesday 29 March 11 14:42 BST (UK)  »
This is my first time posting on this board.  I am researching from Canada looking for information regarding my Kidd family.

Father-George Kidd b. county Down 1865
Mother-Margaret b county Armagh 1865
children
Sarah b county Antrim 1889
Georgina b county Antrim 1890
Isaac b county Louth 1892
Margaret b county Louth 1894
Agnes b county Louth 1896
Louisa b county Louth 1900

I know for sure that Georgina, Margaret and Louisa came to Canada from about 1919-1923.  That is all I know regarding my Kidd family.

I hope to hear from anyone that can help me.
Christine.

Hi Christine,

I'm not sure if this is following the same lineage. As far as the Kidd family is concerned here in Ontario Canada, this is a start to what I have. We may be distant cousins??

85. GEORGE9 KIDD (THOMAS8, RALPH7, RALPH6, GEORGE5, THOMAS4, RICHARD3, RICHARD2, RICHARDUS1) was born 1800 in Ireland, and died 1823 in Ontario, Canada. He married JANE SAUNDERS Abt. 1816 in Ireland, daughter of THOMAS SAUNDERS and JANE SAUNDERS. She was born Abt. 1799 in Knockalane, Kilkenny, Ireland, and died November 03, 1873 in Beckwith Township, Lanark County, Ontario.

More About JANE SAUNDERS:
Burial: Franktown Public Cemetery, Franktown, Ontario

Children of GEORGE KIDD and JANE SAUNDERS are:
164.i.       THOMAS10 KIDD, b. 1817, Coan, Kilkenny, Ireland; d. June 02, 1915, Franktown, Lanark County, Ontario.
165.ii.       WILLIAM KIDD, b. April 05, 1819, Kilkenny, County Wexford, Ireland; d. May 1883, Carrick Township, Bruce County, Ontario.
166.iii.       ELIZABETH KIDD, b. Abt. 1821, Coon, Kilkenny, County Wexford, Ireland; d. June 06, 1884, Carleton, Ontario.

The Saunders, Grffith,Lett, Kidd, Acton families are all intermarried. You will find many of these family members buried in the Saunders Family Cemetery, Watford Ontario. I have more on the Saunders family tree if you wish

Cheers!
