Thank you so much for that! I really am struggling with this. I have found at least 4 possible siblings and just have no idea how to find out how many exactly are out there with connecting the names of her parents. Then if I could find out that if they are alive or their family members! I really appreciate it! I wish I could just go down the office in Scotland and spend the day however I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Archibald was married 3 times and Rosalie was married two times. My Grandma is the child of Rosalie and Archibald. However my grandma only knows of 8 siblings and Ive found or heard about 4 or 5 more she has no idea about. Also some of her siblings she thinks are full blooded and I dont believe they are because of the marriage dates. Ive looked at the shetland records and can't even find my Grans certificate. Rosalie lived in England until she moved to the Shetlands. Also I think i found record of children she used the last name of thwaites with long after her first husband died. So i'm totally confused!

Do any of you recommend family history researcher? I am so stuck on who actually is my Gran's siblings and who is a half sibling. I am unemployed at the moment and can't afford an expensive one but don't want the cheapest I could find either. Anyone have any ideas? I'm at my wits end with this its very confusing.

Thank you everyone for helping me out. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. The information you have provided me is correct. The story is just that I'm trying to help my 80 year Gran find out information on her family. She doesn't know who all are her siblings, she has found a few but none listed below. So I'm trying to help her at least find out there names and possibly connect with them if they are alive. She was 1 when she was placed for adoption so has no real memories of her family. She has never seen what her mother looked like. Thanks everyone

Parents - Archibald Irvine and Mary Tait
He married Elizabeth Balfour in 1900
He married Thomasina White in 1908
He married Rosalie Mary Thwaites in 1927
This is definately him! Thank you for helping me. After his wife Rosalie died he put up all the children for adoption and one of them being my Grandma Rhona Lesley Irvine. My Gran has found some of her siblings but not all of them. So I'm trying to help her find out that and hopefully it will lead me to them if still alive. My Gran has never seen what her Mom Rosalie looks like and shes 80. Thank you all for helping I really appreciate it!

I'm looking for any information on my Great Grandfather Archibald Irvine who was born in 1871 in Shetlands. He was married to Elizabeth Balfour, Tamer White, and Rosalie Jarvoice Thwaites. I am looking for any information at all on any of these people or their relatives.
